Dress Making for Fun

image

Yesterday, my friend Nisha and I went shopping and bought fabrics to make some clothes. Nisha loves making dresses, and was very happy that I suggested we make some.

We had tea at Real Breeze Restaurant after shopping.

We worked late into the night. Cutting and stitching. I ended up bunking the night at her place.

Continued to work in the morning.

The pumpkin vine in front of Nisha’s house. Beautiful.

Finally we have a dress. Actually we made two. Couldn’t take a good picture of me wearing the other one.

Maldivian Artists: Kuhthaa

SONY DSC

For such a small country Maldives has a good number of artists. I have always wished that there was an avenue for us to see and admire their works. After ages of waiting and hoping that someone else would do it, I’ve decided to take the matter into my own hands. If not me then who? right?

Kuhthaa ( @kuhthaa on twitter) is a surfer and an audacious social activitist/reformist who is not afraid to say things as they are. This aspect of him is evident in his art as well. Makes me chuckle.

I met Kuhthaa once in a party, but was too shy to say hi and have been living to regret it ever since.

Here are some of my favourite pieces by Kuhthaa, from his blogspot and tumblr and youtube.

I have grown pretty lazy over the last year and gained a good amount of fat as a result.

Last night I had an epiphany and decided to change my life and my body.
I’ve decided to increase my walks by both number and speed. Another thing is to sleep a bit early around 10pm.

I’m starting with a three day challenge. Day one seems to be going well so far.
